Today, the first day

Welcome to my blog.

I don't think anyone will read this except possibly my family (hi family!), but I'm sort of comfortable with that.

To start, I'm Michelle - a happily married mother of two beautiful children, Isabel and Charlie. I am also a high school English teacher, so by proxy I have 125 more children, as well. That's fun. I live in Northern Wisconsin, where we have all the cold and less of the snow and ice of Southern Wisconsin. *sigh* I could use a snow day.

So here's my day so far. For those of you who know me, you know that I had to make a visit to the ER on Saturday because Charlie stuck a bead up his nose. By the time I came back with the tweezers, he had already snorted it up higher.

Anyhow, I thought once the nurse had given him about 23,423 Shrek stickers and a cherry popsicle, he was over it. Apparently not, as he woke up with a nightmare, holding his nose and screaming. It took me about 25 minutes to get him calmed down and back asleep - in my bed, of course. What is it about a 25 lb. turkey taking up the entire queen size bed? How is that even possible? He's little, and yet he has the power to push me off my side of the bed, or better yet, headbutt me in his sleep.

Chuck finally had enough about 1:30 and got up to sleep on the couch. I was hoping that would give me more room... but no. The pummelling continued.

One more thing: when Chuck was younger, he broke a couple of his front teeth. He has long since gotten it fixed and refixed, but somehow in the night a bit of it came off.

Pretty uneventful night, in the long run...
